These guys are great. As people. Heck, Jaydee is one of my best friends. However, their music is a tad boring. A twenty-six minute CD produces maybe ten minutes of enjoyable music, unless you’re into grunge, in which case, have you ever agreed with any review I have done ever?

Fury and the Mouse… May 20

Every Abbotsford show, more people show up, and less go inside. While the 20th wasn’t as bad (attendance-wise) as the Spinoffs’ show, it was still not good. Not only was the attendance poor, this review will be lacklustre because I waited two days to write it. Sorry!

Debut show for The WCB! Since I’m in them, I can’t review them, but I can comment on how satisfying it was being a total asshole. I felt really tired during our set, but in the last song I managed the energy to fling myself into the crowd, knocking over a couple of the kids who were just standing still until that point. If someone wants to review our set, that would be super rad! Email me!

Doers – Whatcha Doin’?

Normally I hate “Best of” albums, preferring the carefully calculated song orders of a normal album, but folk punk quartet The Doers cry out for such a release. Each of their previous releases are in essentially direct proportion to their complete discography; some fast, exciting fun songs, but primarily slower (but still good) songs. The problem is that listeners (at least) me, don’t want to here a cross section of their complete discography, we want something similar to a Doers set. Unfortunately, Whatcha’s Doin’? follows this disappointing trend.

The first show at a new venue is always a little weird, but at least Twilight Union (formerly Turd Ferguson) is kicking up the pace again (putting on three shows in eight days).
